Best practices suggest that you not store sensitive information in your corporate email however most people do at some time or another. Imagine accidently leaving your Blackberry unattended whereby someone is able to gain access to your email that may contain sensitive data!

To Set the BlackBerry device password

• In the device options, click Password.
• Choose "Set Password" and create a password for the device.
• Set the Password field to Enabled.
• Press the Menu key.
• Click Save.

To Disable the BlackBerry device password

• Set the Password field to Disabled.

To Lock the device

• Verify that you have set a BlackBerry device password.
• In the application list, click Lock. OR Press the Lock button on appropriate models.

To Unlock your device

• From the Lock screen, click the trackball. OR Press the Lock button on appropriate models.
• Click Unlock.
• Type your device password.
• Press the Enter key.
