Smith IT AV Staff enhance the classroom experience by providing
professors to reach students with the latest classroom technology
The Audio/Visual group is equipped to provide and assist with digital
presentations over a plethora of mediums, including audio and
video teleconferences, lectures, panel
discussions, and content sharing.
Lecture Capture with
Panopto and Content Sharing through Adobe Connect virtual meetings
are both available in our Classrooms. Please contact the AV
Support team in advance, using the
Audio Visual Request form, if you need help setting up
either of these in
To request AV services, please fill out the
Audio Visual Request in advance, at least
three business days prior to the event. After the request is
received and processed, you will receive a confirmation of your request.
No request will be scheduled if a reservation is not made for the space.
In the event of an AV emergency within a classroom, please use the
Call for Assistance button on the touch panel first.
That is your fastest way to reach classroom support. If this
fails, please call x55213 using the existing house phones throughout the
school or 301-405-5213 from any other phone.
All equipment reservations must be submitted via our
AV Request online form. If you are making a reservation
with less than 3 days prior to your event, you should call
the AV Manager at x59548 or if no answer, Master Control, x55213, after filling out the form.
At all other times, you may call the Helpdesk at x52269 and they will
direct your call. Outside of Helpdesk hours of operation AV services

The Control Room is staffed for technical assistance whenever classes
are in session. Normally that means:
Any support needed outside of regular business hours, or that creates
greater demands than usual on our support team during normal business
hours must be approved by Audio Visual Services
Management. Any event that is not Smith School related will be
subject to a fee determined by the Audio Visual Manager and Smith IT
