Rosie Ferrarro, assistant professor of marketing, received her PhD from Fuqua
School of Business at Duke University. Her research interests focus on consumer
behavior, specifically the effects of nonconscious social influence on choice and
preference and the effects of external threats on consumption behavior.
Il-Horn Hann, associate professor of information systems, received his PhD from
the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include open source software
and the intersection of IT and markets.
Hank Lucas, decision, operations and information technology department chair
and Smith Professor of Information Systems, received his PhD from Sloan School of
Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research interests
include information technology-enabled transformations of organizations, markets,
industries and our daily lives.
Sunil Mithas, associate professor of decision, operations and information technology,
received his PhD from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on strategic
management and impact of information technology (IT) resources such as IT spending,
IT applications and IT human capital, tracing the impact of IT resources on firm
performance and shareholder value through revenue growth, cost reduction and intangibles
such as customer satisfaction and organizational capabilities.
Anastasiya Pocheptsova, assistant professor of marketing, received her PD from
Yale School of Management. Her research explores decision making and focuses on
the influence of goals, emotions and memory biases on consumer choices.
Rhonda Reger, associate professor of management and organization, received her
PhD from the University of Illinois. Her research interests include strategic management,
managerial cognition, and organizational identity and reputation.
Debra Shapiro, Clarice Smith Professor of Management and Organization, received
her PhD from Northwestern University. Her research focuses on managing conflict
in organizations and teams; managing perception of organizational injustice; cross-functional
or international diversity; impression-managing strategies; and, negotiations and
Cindy Stevens, associate professor of management and organization, received her
PhD from the University of Washington. Her primary research areas include recruitment
and staffing, decision making, working constructively with difficult co-workers,
and workplace diversity.
Siva Viswanathan, associate professor of information systems, received his PhD
from New York University. His research focuses on emerging issues related to online
firms and markets, and on analyzing the competitive and strategic implications of
new information and communication technologies.
Jie Zhang, Harvey Sanders Fellow of Retail Management and associate professor
of marketing, received her PhD from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern
University. Her general research interest is to apply econometric and statistical
models to study consumers’ purchase behavior and responses to various promotion
programs, and then to design innovative decision support tools for marketers based
on these models. She is particularly interested in their applications in the Internet
