What is QUEST?
QUEST Curriculum and Integrating QUEST (IQ) Programs
Students in QUEST participate in curricular and co-curricular programming. Both
classroom and outside of the classroom learning are instrumental in helping undergraduates
to develop and improve their professional and personal capabilities.
QUEST 5 Course Curriculum
Three QUEST courses:
These courses are required for all QUEST students and are cohort based courses
- BMGT/ENES 190H: Introduction to Design and Quality (4 credits)
Taken fall semester, sophomore year
- BMGT/ENES390H: Systems Thinking for Managerial Decision
Making (3 credits)
(formerly BMGT 498X) Taken fall or spring semester, junior year
- BMGT/ENES 490H: QUEST Consulting and Innovation Practicum (4 credits)
(formerly The Total Quality Practicum for 3 credits)
Taken fall semester, senior year
Two Elective Courses:
QUEST students take two elective courses, these are weaved in
with the requirements listed above. Elective options include:
- ARHU 390H: Cross Cultural Perspectives on Quality
- BMGT 332: Operations Research for Management Decisions
- BMGT 385: Operations Management
- BMGT 434: Introduction to Optimization
- BMGT 438A: Doing Business in the Middle East &
North Africa (QUEST Tunisia study abroad course)
- BMGT 485: Project Management
- BMGT 486: Total Quality Management
- BMGT 487: Six Sigma Strategy and Methods
- CMSC 434: Introduction to Human-Computer

Cohort: the group of students admitted each year who will begin and complete
the program together.
Integrating QUEST (IQ) Programs
Integrating QUEST (or IQ) programs are designed exclusively for QUEST students
and provide a unique opportunity to participate in customized professional development
programs, experience special guest presentations, and engage in community building
activities. IQ programs can be developed by the program administration, professional
partners and QUEST alumni and students. Students attend IQ events each semester.
