Business Partners: Consulting Services
Each
fall semester, QUEST student teams consult with organizations on real-time
challenges to help transform their products, processes and services into
higher quality operations.
The teams are comprised of undergraduate seniors from each of the three
disciplines of QUEST student study: Business, Engineering, and Computer,
Mathematical and Physical Sciences.
What is a QUEST Project?
QUEST projects come in a variety of genres, from manufacturing to
business development, everything in-between and beyond. A QUEST project
meets the following criteria:
- Brings educational value to
students
- Probability of achieving successful
results within a single semester
(approx. 13 weeks)
- Achieves a desirable balance
between the business and technology components of the project
- Sponsoring organization is
available to the student team for the duration of the project
Submit a Project Proposal
QUEST solicits project proposals during late spring and early summer for
the following fall, but you can contact us anytime if you're interested in
sponsoring a team of students. You can
contact us with the following information to start the conversation:
- Your company name, address and
Web site
- The contact information of the
person who QUEST should contact to discuss
- Any ideas that you have about the
type of project you are interested in
Client organizations also agree to pay a set fee to support the costs
associated with specialized consulting training provided to the student
teams, faculty advisors, technology support, and project expenses.
Please e-mail or call 301-405-8732
to discuss the associated fee.
A signed contract detailing the commitments of both QUEST and the client
organization signifies a secured project.
Note:
Champion: Serves at the executive level of the organization and works with
QUEST to negotiate and maintain the contract agreement.
Representative: This may be the same person as
the project champion. The representative should be available 2 - 3 hours per
week to support the project.
