Active Renter

ALPFA/HCF Scholarship program

Amount - $500-5000.  Application timeline  - See website.

  • Must be Hispanic or of Hispanic descent.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
  • Must be enrolled Full-Time in an accredited not-for -profit 4 year university or graduate school during Fall of scholarship cycle year
  • Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time for the upcoming academic year. 
  • Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Army ROTC- University of Maryland

  • A US Citizen.
  • Less than 27 years old upon graduation.
  • A full time student with a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • Physically and medically fit and have no more than 3 dependents and no civil convictions or history of substance abuse.

Christensen Law Distracted Driving Awareness Scholarship

Amount - $2,500. Application timeline - Deadline is July 15, 2017.

  • Open to all majors.
  • Submit 1800-2000 word essay on how distracted driving has impacted your life.

Crystal Group

Amount - $1,000. Application timeline - Deadline is May 1, 2015.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student, working toward a bachelor's degree with either a major within the business program
  • Is a member of the military (including current military, reservists, ROTC cadets and veterans), a child of a military service-member, or a spouse of a military member
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have completed at least 60 semester hours to be eligible

Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Assistance

  • University of Maryland program designed to help students avoid dropping out of school when faced with unforeseen financial difficulties.

Government Finance Officers Association

1-800-HANSONS Scholarship Program

Amount - $5,000; $1,000; and $500 awards. Application timeline - October 31, annually

  • Minimum 3.3 GPA

iModules Scholarship

Amount - $1,500. Application timeline - Deadline is April 1, 2015.

  • Must be full time student for the Fall 2015 semester
  • Must be attending or will be attending a school that is an iModules client for the Fall 2015 semester (Smith School of Business is an iModules client.)
  • A minimum C grade point average is required.

iSeeCars.com Future Entrepreneurs Scholarship

  • Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship
  • Entering freshman, undergraduate, and graduate students currently enrolled full-time at an accredited 4-year U.S. college

Maryland Alumni Association Student Scholarship Award

Amount - up to $2,000.  Application timeline  - See website.

  • Provides assistance to current undergraduate students in good standing who may be unable to continue their education at the University due to extenuating personal or family financial circumstances.
  • A scholarship of up to $2000 per student will be awarded for the academic year.
  • A total of 10 awards may be granted annually.

National Contract Management Association - Outstanding Academic Acheivement Award

Amount - Varies.  Application timeline  - March 31, 2015.

  • Application must contain an essay and a letter of recommendation.
  • Must be enrolled in a program that is leading to a degree.
  • Must have a developed a high level of achievement in academia and a commitment to the acquisition profession.

Surety Association Minority Scholarship

Amount - $5,000.  Application timeline - See website.

  • Must be an accounting or business/finance major, insurance/risk managment major.
  • Must have an overall and major GPA of 3.0.
  • Must have completed atleast 30 credit hours, including atleast 6 semester hours in his/her declared.
  • Must be a minority student.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must provide an essay and two recommendations.
  • Must be a full-time undergraduate student.

True Blue Life Insurance

Amount - $2,500. Application timeline - Deadline is August 31, 2015.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled students in the Fall 2015 semester in any undergraduate university in the United States.
  • College must be an accredited public or private school in the United States.
  • High school seniors are eligible.
  • All majors of study may apply.
  • Students must be 17 years old to apply.
  • Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA to apply.

Webucator

Amount - $1,000. Application timeline - March 31 (annually)

  • Open to all students who study computer science with the intention of using knowledge gained to provide leadership in their chosen field [business].
  • Student is enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college or university in the United States.
  • Student has completed at least one computer science class* with a grade of at least 3.4 out of 4.0 or the equivalent.
  • Student has concrete plans to take at least one computer science class in the upcoming school year.
  • Student has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent.
  • Student agrees that Webucator may announce his/her name and college on its website and social media.

* If it is unclear by the title of the class, students must explain how the class relates to computer science.

Accounting Majors

Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA)

Amount - $1,500. Application timeline - March 30, 2017

  • Must have completed sophomore year of college (or 60 semester hours or the equivalent) by the time of the application deadline
  • Must be majoring in accounting or finance.  
  • Possess and maintain a cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Scholarship

Amount - $1,000-$5,000.  Application timeline  - See website.

MD Society of Accountants

Amount  - $2,000 for full-time students; $1,000 for part-time.  Application timeline  - June 15.

  • Must be a Maryland resident enrolled in an accredited Maryland university, college, or community college.
  • Major in accounting, leading to a degree or certificate.
  • Must have maintained a 3.0 GPA in both, accounting and overall.
  • Must have completed Accounting Principles I and II with grades of B or better.
  • Prepare 250 word essay.

Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarships

Amount - $1,000-10,000.  Application timeline  - February 5, 2015.

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student, currently enrolled full-time (taking at least 12 semester hour undergrad or 9 hours graduate) at an accredited four-year college or university with a declared major in accounting, businees, finance, or criminal justice.
  • Three letters of recommendation must be submitted on behalf of the applicant.

Information Systems Majors

Foundation for IT Education (multiple scholarships)

Amount - varies  Application timeline  - May 31, 2015.

  • Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a similar program.
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Enrolled as a full-time (12 semester hours or equivalent) undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited institution in the United States.
  • A U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
  • An an AITP student member.

Logistics, Business, and Public Policy Majors

R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter Foundation - R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program

Amount - Up to $5,000.  Application timeline  - Annual deadline is in February. 

  • Seek education in the area of supply chain management-procurement.
  • Eligible students will be entering their senior year and be enrolled full time in an accredited supply management program with the intention of specializing in the supply management profession.
  • Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on outstanding academic achievement, high ethical standards, and potential to become a future leader in the procurement field.  

American Association of Railroad Superintendents (AARS)

Amount - $1,000.  Application timeline  - See website.

  • Be enrolled at the time of application as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university; preference given to those pursuing a bachelor or graduate degree in transportation or a related curriculum.
  • Demonstrate successful completion of the previous year of study by maintaining at least a 2.75 accumulated grade point average on a scale of 1 to 4 with an "A" equal to 4.
  • Accumulate enough credits from accredited school(s) in time for the Fall Semester to have obtained at least a sophomore level standing at the college or university of enrollment.

National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) (multiple scholarships)

Amount - Varies.  Application timeline  - See website.

  • Applicant must be a member of NDTA or a dependent of an NDTA member in good standing.
  • Minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale as indicated by an official school transcript.
  • Planned use of Merit Scholarship funds and career goals as described in a student essay of not more that 250 words.
  • Completion of a minimum of 30 semester hours (or quarter hour equivalent) for undergraduate applicants and a minimum of 12 semester hours (or quarter equivalent) for graduate applicants.

Marketing Majors

Ron Garikes Student Scholarship

Amount - $2,500.  Application timeline  - See website.

  • The student's college must be located in United States and the institution's accreditation must be recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation.
  • The student must be currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree, associate's degree or a graduate degree in Marketing, Public Relations and/or Communications.
  • The student must be enrolled full-time, with a course load of atleast 12 semester hours. Students pursuing a graduate degree must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits.
  • The student must currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Two letters of recommendation must accompany the student's application; one from either the academic advisor or a professor in the degree program i n which the student is enrolled, and the other from a person who can speak to the student's passion about his/her major.
  • The student may not have previously received any scholarship award from the SMPS Foundation or more than one scholarship from a SMPS chapter.
  • The student must respond to one of two essay questions.

Ultimate Promotion Scholarship by Slant

Amount - $1,500. Application timeline - August 1, 2016.

  • Submit an original essay of 1,500 words or less that outlines your idea for a promotional experience to be provided by one of your favorite brands.
