Women earn a majority of college degrees at many levels in the United States, but not in business schools. To support business- and career-minded women, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is staging a Women’s Week series of speakers and activities geared to professional growth, Monday-Friday, March 28-April 1 in Van Munching Hall (VMH) on UMD’s College Park campus.
The part-time MBA program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business climbed into the top 20 in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings, released March 16, 2016. The program is No. 19 overall and No. 11 among public schools in the publication’s 2017 Best Graduate Programs guide, compared to No. 26 and No. 16, respectively, from the previous year.

WeCook, a new tech company that brings personal chefs into people’s homes to stock their refrigerators with meals for a low subscription fee, was the big winner in the Feb. 16 Pitch Dingman Competition. The first-place win came with a $15,000 prize that the startup plans to use for marketing.
