Michael FaulkenderThe global financial crisis has highlighted the need to have thoughtful, well-trained finance professionals in organizations around the world.  Forbes Magazine recently identified specialty Masters programs in Finance as the sixth best master’s degree right now based on mid-career salaries and employment growth.[1]  Based only on mid-career salaries, master’s programs in finance come in No. 2 on the list. Now is the time to explore a Master of Finance degree.

The Master of Finance program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business prepares students for careers in finance on both Wall Street and Main Street. We offer great resources to help you achieve your potential. Our finance department is in the top-10 in the world in finance research.[2] Our faculty comprises exceptional scholars at the cutting edge of the field. We help you not only understand issues dominating today’s headlines, but also train you for what is coming tomorrow. We are located in the Washington, D.C. region, which places students at the epicenter of institutions shaping financial markets. Our faculty and staff retain strong relationships with corporate and governmental partners. Students access and learn from the experiences of professionals through guest lectures, site visits and experiential learning projects. Our Center for Financial Policy hosts conferences and events that attract top academics, practitioners, regulators and policymakers.
