Why did you choose to attend the Smith School of Business?

I am committed to and passionate about international development. I would like to work as a finance specialist for one of the many intergovernmental organizations such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), or the like.

The Smith MBA will prove an excellent opportunity for me to learn from world-renowned faculty. Additionally, the location of the Robert H. Smith School of Business is extremely strategic in my job search since most intergovernmental organizations are headquartered in Washington D.C.

In your opinion, what makes the Smith MBA program unique?

Students at the Robert H. Smith School of Business come from a very diverse background, not only in terms of different industries, but also in terms of different nationalities. This makes for interesting discussions in class since we hear from students who have their own unique perspectives. In addition, the culture at Smith is such that the first years interact a lot with the second years, and vice versa; the world renowned faculty, here at Smith, know students by their first name; the staff have a positive outlook and are always eager to help you out. Such a close-knit community ensures that students have a support system that they can rely on while they are pursuing their MBA.

What advice would you give to future Smith MBA candidates?

Companies recruit from campus on almost the first day of school, so it would be prudent to at least have some idea of you want do post-MBA in order to ensure that you make the most out of the MBA program.
