“Smith is a place to flourish and develop a network of strong and vibrant individuals.”

Why did you choose to attend the Smith School of Business?

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. My family, my friends, and all the things that make me happy are there. Los Angeles is home. So before I decided to attend Smith, I was pretty certain that I would end up staying and attending an MBA program in Southern California. But that all changed when I visited Smith for the first time during Admitted Student Weekend.  For the first time in my life a place that wasn’t located in LA felt like home. From the moment I stepped inside Van Munching Hall, I knew that my life was going to change for the better. Everyone I met during Admitted Students Weekend was so welcoming and willing to help. It was fairly obvious that Smith was not only a great place to work, but from a student’s perspective, it was also a place to flourish and develop a network of strong and vibrant individuals.

In your opinion, what makes the Smith MBA program unique?

The people! From my classmates to the helpful staff, from the engaging professors to the second years that go out of their way to help us (the first years) out, Smith is unique because it is group of amazing individuals that together create a strong and welcoming community. I’m grateful to be part of this community, and I am excited to continue building on the vibrant spirit of the Smith Experience to propel our program forward.

What advice would you give to future Smith MBA candidates?

“Follow your gut!” I know it sounds cliché, but that is the advice I used to make my decision to attend Smith. When applying to schools I experienced a lot of push and pull from other MBA programs. But ultimately, I knew that Smith was the place for me because of the community and people I met. Since making my decision, I haven't looked back.
