Initial Setup of MySmith
The initial configuration of MySmith is important
because it allows you access your network drive while using any
of the Citrix applications, including saving and reading files
from their K drive. In addition, you will be able to view
upcoming events at the Smith School and use Lotus Domino
applications.
The Lotus Domino and Citrix portlets use your Smith
School username and password so all Smith faculty, staff,
and MBA students will be able to save all their work onto
their network storage (K drive) that have been allocated to
you.
NOTE: Undergrads who do not have a
Smith School login will have to save their data onto their local
drive or on a flash drive (see FAQ for more details)
-
Open your web browser and go to: http://my.umd.edu
-
Enter your University Directory
username and password. This is the same
username and password you might already be
using with the campus wireless network, Testudo, or Blackboard.
-
Click Login You will be presented with
the MyUM home page. To access MySmith click
the “MySmith” tab.

-
Go to the Smith Identity Portlet
located on the left. When you click on
the link "Click here to update your MySmith
profile", you will see a popup asking you
for your Smith login, Smith status (fac/staff,
MBA, undergrad), and if you have a Novell or
Notes account (if you have a Smith login,
then you will answer yes to both). After you
save your settings, you should see 2 green
lights and you're set!
