Sam Brownell, Co-President 

Sam Brownell graduated from Loyola University in Maryland in 2005 with a major in economics and a minor in math. Prior to starting his MBA Sam worked on the equity trading desk at JMP Securities in San Francisco. He also interned at JMP Securities during the summer of 2010 doing sell side equity research. He a Portfolio Manager for the Mayer Fund and a Graduate Assistant for Dr. Faulkender, who teaches Financial Management for first year MBAs.
  Quint Mansell, Co-President 

Quint received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University. He worked as a field engineer prior to entering the MBA program at the University of Maryland. During the summer of 2010, he interned with Human Genome Sciences. He is also an analyst for the Mayer Fund.

Rachel Oster, Vice President - Career Development 

Rachel is a 2nd-year MBA student originally from Allentown, PA. She attended Muhlenberg College where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Accounting. Prior to pursing her MBA at Smith she worked as a Public Accountant for Deloitte serving the commercial sector. While at the Smith School she is focusing on Finance and interned at Raytheon with their Financial Executive Development Program.

 

Philip Whitley, Vice President - Information Technology

Prior to coming to Smith, Philip worked for Wachovia Wealth Management.  In the summer of 2010 Philip interned at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC.  He holds a finance undergraduate degree and runs a website about finance and economics.   He is also a Portfolio Manager for the Mayer Fund and a Graduate Assistant for the Netcentric Behavioral Lab.

Helen Culbertson, Vice President - Special Events
 

Helen is consulting professional with significant experience in project and account management. She is from Charlotte, NC, and has lived in the DC area for the past 4 years. At Smith, she is focusing on general management, finance, and strategy to pursue a career in consulting and strategy. Her summer internship was at the Government Accountability Office where she worked on the Financial Markets group.

 

  Ajit Joseph, Vice President - Finance 

Ajit holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The University of Virginia. Prior to joining the MBA program at the Smith School of Business, he was the Manager of Financial Analysis at a mid size internet firm in Chevy Chase, MD. In the Summer of 2010 he interned at WR Grace in their Corporate Finance division. Ajit is also an associate for the New Markets Venture Partners.
