Shantanu
Chandra

As
the Co-President of the
MCC, Shantanu is
responsible for leading
the board as well as
defining and executing
the team's combined
vision. Prior to joining
Smith, Shantanu worked
as a Lead Engineer at
Samsung India Software
Operations. In that role
he was responsible for
Mobile Handset
Commercialization for
North American markets.
He has an undergraduate
degree in Computer
Science from R.V.
College of Engineering
and at Smith his focus
has been Consulting and
Technology. He interned
at the International
Monetary Fund in DC.

Patrick Keenan
patrick.keenan@rhsmith.umd.edu Patrick
is also responsible for leading the
board as well as defining and
executing the team's combined
vision. Prior to joining
Smith, Patrick worked in both
general management and financial
regulation. After gaining
industry experience, Patrick
embarked on his first year at Smith
where he joined the Smith Experience
Project that took him to India to
provide consulting services for a
client in the nuclear energy
industry. For his summer internship
Patrick joined a midsize
pharmaceutical company based out of
Delaware where he worked as an
internal consultant for Corporate
Strategy.

Finance
Fenglin Yan
fenglin.yan@rhsmith.umd.edu In
this role, Flynn’s goal is to create
and manage the club budget and
provide budget updates throughout
the year concerning the availability
of funds for events. In addition, he
works with the MBAA VP of Finance to
negotiate funds for events and
process reimbursements in a timely
process. He interned in PwC's
commercial advisory practice during
the past summer in
their Forensic Technology Solutions
group. Before joining Smith, Flynn
worked as an engineering consultant
mainly responsible for statistical
modeling and data analysis. Flynn
holds a bachelor’s degree from
Nanjing University, China.

Sandesh Gavande
sandesh.gavande@rhsmith.umd.edu As
VP of External
Relations, Sandesh is
tasked with fostering
partnerships with
alumni, guest speakers,
and consulting firms.
Summer 2012 Sandesh
interned with Education
Pioneers and worked with
a client to construct a
business development
plan for product
monetization. Prior to
his MBA, Sandesh worked
as a Customer
Relationship Management
consultant focusing on
the financial services
and life sciences
industries. During his
first year of MBA,
Sandesh represented the
Smith school at various
case competitions where
his team earn placement
in the top 3.

Digital Media
John
Bernier
john.bernier@rhsmith.umd.edu
John oversees
MCC's digital media
strategy. This includes
all marketing and
communications that
engage current students
as well as alumni and
recruiters. In 2007 John
founded Gospel
Management Group as a
promotions and
management firm for
artists based in the
Northeast. As the
company expanded into
event production and
consulting John decided
to pursue his MBA in
order acquire supplement
management skills. Last
spring John worked as a
marketing consultant for
Syngenta in Brazil and
this summer he
interned at PepsiCo in
Chicago where he
developed sales
strategies for both
Gatorade and Tropicanca. |
VP Strategic
Communication
Chris Dettmar
christopher.dettmar@rhsmith.umd.edu
Chris is
responsible for
developing and executing
internal and external
communications and
related strategies for
the MCC. Prior to coming
to Smith, Chris was a
consultant for the U.S.
Navy, working out of the
Pentagon and at various
locations throughout the
country. He has a degree
in journalism with a
minor in business from
Penn State, and began
his career as a
television advertising
producer. Chris spent
this summer as a sales
strategy intern at
PepsiCo in New York, and
is interning during the
semester as a strategy
consultant with Alvarez
& Marsal in Washington,
D.C.

Career Development
Liza
Savranskaya
liza.savranskaya@rhsmith.umd.edu
As VP of Career
Development, Liza's
focus is on helping club
members identify and
maximize career
opportunities through
interview preparation,
networking, and alumni
relationships. Before
coming to
school, Liza worked in
restaurant franchise
operations in the DC
area. At Smith, Liza is
focusing on change
management and
organization design,
under the umbrella of
strategy consulting. She
spent her summer
interning in CSC's
federal management
consulting group.
Outside of school, she
can be found obsessing
over her cat Molly or
skiing on winter
weekends.
