2012-2013 Leadership Team

As the Co-President of IMBAA, Satyam is responsible for leading the board to provide professional growth opportunities and help better integration of the international students into Smith Community. Satyam is a second year full time MBA student and is working as an analyst with the Mayer Fund. He interned at Gallup Consulting, Chicago as Client Development Consultant during the summer of 2012. Prior to joining Smith School, Satyam was an analyst at Goldman Sachs, working with the Global Security Services division. Satyam has an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. His extracurricular interests include swimming and he represented his state in the National Triathlon Championship held in India.
Co-President, Professional Affairs - Echo Gao
Prior to MBA program, Echo Gao worked in a manufacturing company in China as Manager of Sales Department, and travelled a lot domestically and internationally. Her MBA focus area is Corporate Finance and she works as an Equity Analyst on the $2.6 million dollars Mayer Fund. As the Co-President of IMBAA club, Echo is working closely with other members and non-members of the club to realize the value proposition and goals of IMBAA.
VP of Finance - Shantanu Chandra
As the VP Finance for International MBA Association Shantanu's goal
is to create and manage the club budget and provide
budget updates throughout the year concerning the
availability of funds for events. He is also
responsible for negotiating budget with MBAA. Prior
to joining Smith, Shantanu was working as a Lead
Engineer at Samsung India Software Operations. In
that role he was responsible for Mobile Handset
Commercialization for North American markets. He has
an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from
R.V. College of Engineering and at Smith his focus
has been Consulting and Technology. He did his
internship at the International Monetary Fund in
Washington DC.
VP of Marketing - Ana Castro Lapeira
As the VP of Marketing and Communications Ana’s goal
is to communicate and promote the IMBAA’s events and
career development opportunities as well as engaging
the Smith community in all the different activities
offered by the club during the year. Additionally
she is the VP of Marketing of the Latin MBA Student
Association and board member of the Career Strategic
Council.
Ana received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical
Engineering in the Simon Bolivar University in
Caracas Venezuela. She also spent one year in a
study abroad program during college in Barcelona
Spain, which allows her to experience other culture
and learning other languages. She believes that when
you visit a different country, you are not only
visiting places or eating great food but you are
also come into contact with the country’s history,
people and traditions. She loves to travel and to
share ideas and experiences with the international
community within Smith School.
VP of Technical Affairs - Sagar
Das
As the VP of Technical Affairs, Sagar Das, is responsible for managing and updating the IMBAA webpage - events pictures, board member's profile adding new features to the website. He is also responsible for all technical aspects of club events including venue and equipment reservation, logistics and operations. Sagar is working part time with Unisys Corporation as a marketing analyst. He has extensive experience in B2B marketing in the technology consulting domain. Prior to joining Smith, Sagar was working as Technology Associate at Sapient Global Markets. He has an undergraduate degree in Information and Communication Technology. His extracurricular interests include reading science fiction novels and English literature, playing tennis.
