BUSI 788K: This one-credit course is about writing and presenting new venture business plans relevant to the Chinese market. It involves pitching your team’s business plan in the U.S. (December) and in Beijing, China (January). Business ideas must either take place in China or leverage Chinese resources. The course is required for participation in the China Business Plan Competition which offers up to $10,000 in cash prizes. By registering for this course, you will be registered for the 2 credit winter global studies trip to Beijing in January 2013, led by the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship.
BUSI 798K: 2 credits received for China travel in January
- Develop a business idea that is based in China or leverages Chinese resources and present it to expert judges for feedback for a chance at $10,000 in cash prizes
- Gain exposure to and interact with local early-stage firms and entrepreneurs through company visits and group meals
- Compete against top U.S. and Chinese MBA students in the annual China Business Plan Competition for a chance to win cash prizes
- Learn about Chinese history and culture through sightseeing tours and company visits
