Robert H. Smith School of Business
Van Munching Hall / College Park, MD 20742

The Dingman Jumpstart is a 2-week entrepreneurship bootcamp offered to the University of Maryland students and recent alumni. This intensive program is designed to give students an opportunity to experience venture creation. This year the program is becoming international: 10 MBA students from Peking University, China, are signed up for this exciting experience. This will allow US-based students a unique opportunity to find a top business partner from China and create international teams. Jumpstart was successfully launched in January 2009 and repeated in August 2009 with a very important goal in mind—to help budding entrepreneurs learn what it takes to identify a great business opportunity and transform their idea from vision to realization. For more information and application requirements, visit the website.

Smith in Israel
The Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship working with the Technion Entrepreneurship Center, The Technion T3, and the Technion Seed Incubator developed a 10 week fellowship program for full-time MBA students to work on commercializing technology from the Technion, Israel's oldest university. Using technology research from the Technion, MBA participants are working closely with Technion graduate students and researchers to develop marketing and implementation strategies for a North American market entry. This program also involves detailed exposure to the Israeli venture community and successful Israeli startup companies to give participants a comprehensive introduction to Israel’s global technological presence. The program is based in Haifa from May 18th to July 10th.

Follow the Smith MBA students' experience in Israel, as they complete the 10 week Global Technology Entrepreneurship Fellowship program. (Video/Blog)
