Nominate Your Favorite Professor for a Krowe Teaching Award
A truly great teacher can change your life. Help us acknowledge the efforts of the teachers you appreciated and admired with a nomination for a 2007-2008 Krowe Teaching Award. Nominees must be a Smith School faculty member or a Smith School instructor (faculty members from other academic units within the University of Maryland are not eligible). The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, February 1, 2008.
Allan Edelson ’81 Speaks at December Commencement
An enthusiastic crowd gathered in the Comcast Center on Dec. 20, 2007, to cheer on 324 brand-new Smith School alumni. Allan Edelson ’81, director with Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage, Inc., joined in the congratulations and gave his fellow alumni advice on selecting a career and specific steps they could take to be successful in their first job. Marketing Professor Receives University’s Highest Honor
Roland Rust, David Bruce Smith Chair in Marketing and marketing department chair at the Smith School, has been named distinguished university professor. The title recognizes University of Maryland faculty who are recognized nationally and internationally for the importance of their scholarly and creative achievements, contributions and service. Smith MBA grads, remember competing in the MBA Case Competition? More than 60 alumni and corporate friends will be invited to serve as judges for this year’s competition, and all interested alumni are invited to come cheer the teams, network with friends and meet some great up-and-coming Smith MBAs. The final round concludes with a reception attended by all second-year MBAs, Smith School faculty, staff, and local Smith alumni and key corporate friends. Event is free; registration not required.
