Richard Schaeffer ’74, chairman of NYMEX Holdings, Inc., and the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., addressed a lively audience of Smith School graduates, family members, friends, and Smith faculty and administrators at the Smith School's winter commencement ceremony on December 21, 2006. Schaeffer led the company’s $383.5 million Initial Public Offering, the most successful IPO in the history of the New York Stock Exchange.
