On Friday, September 12, 2014, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business launched the third cohort of the now campus-wide UMD-Smith Leadership Academy.
The University of Maryland announced gifts totaling $60 million, including $30 million from real estate developer Robert H. Smith, an alumnus and benefactor of the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Smiths gift will support students, faculty and academic programs in the Smith School, as well as support the university's Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

Incoming undergraduates at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business got a taste of what’s looming in job and internship interviews during Critical Thinking Night, a new Welcome Week workshop added to meet employer demand.
In May, twenty students learned about entrepreneurship in a European context while studying in Munich, Germany and London, England. Over the course of the 3-credit, 2-week program, students visited international corporations, interacted with local entrepreneurs and enjoyed the beautiful sights in both cities.
According to Net Impact’s recently released 2014 “Business as UNusual” rankings, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business ranks 20th in Social Impact and 30th in Sustainability among MBA programs.
