New year, new career? 2013 could be the year you get that new job, big
promotion or develop as a professional. Set your goals now.
In this edition of Smith Business Close-Up with the University of Maryland’s
Robert H. Smith School of Business, Joyce Russell outlines how to tackle setting
some New Year’s resolutions for your career.
Dr. Russell is the vice dean at the Smith School and the director of the
school’s Executive Coaching and Leadership Development Program. She is a
licensed industrial and organizational psychologist and has more than 25 years
of experience coaching executives and consulting on leadership and career
management. She contributes a weekly “Career Coach” column to the Washington
Post’s Capital Business newspaper, where offers advice for people looking
to advance their careers.
