@SmithSchool Named Best B-School Twitter Feed
The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business was named the
best business school Twitter feed for 2011 by “B2BTOY” (B2B Twitterer of the
Year). This year’s award winners in the various categories included Lockheed
Martin, Maersk, and Toyota, among others. Winners are nominated by Twitter users
and selected by a panel of 11 judges. The judges and competition sponsors
represent several top advertising, marketing and social media agencies. Last
year the Smith School was a runner-up in the category.
“Each day, we tweet about school news, events and expert faculty commentary
on timely topics,” said Alissa Arford, director of online strategy at the Smith
School. “Twitter is adding a great new interactive dimension to our marketing
communications strategy. I can’t think of a better place to ‘tweet’ for than a
top-ranked business school. You have brilliant and diverse people in a dynamic
environment with exciting events that make for an endless variety of tweets!”
Currently, the Smith School has more than 2,000 followers on the
@SmithSchool
Twitter feed. You don’t have to be actively using Twitter to follow tweets.
