The Emergence of Internal Changemakers:
How Generation Y is Influencing Corporate Culture

As Generation Y enters the workforce, they are stirring things up and challenging the corporate culture. What power do these changemakers really have and how can you harness it?

In this edition of Smith Business Close-Up with the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, Melissa Carrier talks about the emergence of internal changemakers in organizations.

Carrier is the executive director of the Center for Social Value Creation at the Smith School. The center helps to prepare students to tackle global issues and create innovative business solutions. It offers field experiences, coursework, research and career-planning to help students create and enhance organizations by using business skills as a vehicle for social and environmental change.

Smith Business Close-Up is co-produced by the Robert H. Smith School of Business and Maryland Public Television. The television segment focuses on the latest thinking in business management, and features in-depth interviews with Smith School faculty and other members of the school’s community of business leaders.
