Health care reform is a hot issue in Washington and primary to reforms is
figuring out how to cut costs. But what is the best way to contain costs and
still provide quality care?
In this edition of Smith Business Close-Up with the University of
Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business,
Kislaya Prasad discusses the
controversies of health care reform and how to approach cost cutting.
Dr. Prasad is a research professor at the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Among other things, he is currently studying the cost-effectiveness of
treatments and technologies in medicine, variations in medical practice and the
diffusion of technologies in medicine. Dr. Prasad is also a Guest Scholar at the
Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.

Business and Maryland Public Television. The television segment focuses on the latest thinking in business management,
