Dr.
Michael Raynor, a Distinguished Fellow
with Deloitte Research, continues the
Executive Speakers Series with his
presentation on Friday, April 6, 2007.
The event is open to all students and
will be held in Frank Auditorium. From
1-2 p.m., Raynor will present his
theories on strategy. From 2 2:30 p.m.
there will be a book signing in Frank
Auditorium (VMH 1524) of his book The
Strategy Paradox.
Raynor works with senior executives
in the worlds leading corporations in
several industries, including
telecommunications, media and
entertainment, pharmaceuticals, medical
devices, energy and manufacturing. In
his research, he explores the challenges
of developing a corporate strategy and
fostering innovation.
The Strategy Paradox follows
Raynor's 2003 bestseller The
Innovators Solution. This first book
was coauthored with Professor Clayton M.
Christensen, the Robert and Jane Cizik
Professor of Business Administration at
the Harvard Business School. The book
was on both The Wall Street Journal
and The New York Times bestseller
lists, and won several book of the year
awards.
In addition to his books, Raynor has
published extensively in managerial and
academic journals. He teaches in the
Executive MBA program at the Richard
Ivey School of Business at the
University of Western Ontario in London,
Canada. He also has taught at the IMD
Business School in Lausanne,
Switzerland.
Raynor received his doctorate from
the Harvard Business School. He holds a
masters degree in business
administration from the Ivey School of
Business at the University of Western
Ontario in London, Canada, and an
undergraduate degree in philosophy from
Harvard University. Raynor resides in
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
