PhD Students Receive Honors at 25th Doctoral Awards Banquet

The 25th Annual Doctoral Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 19 was attended by Smith PhD candidates, faculty, family and friends. A string trio from the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center entertained during the pre-dinner reception.
Dean Howard Frank commented on the important role Smiths PhD program plays in producing the research that marks Smith as a top-tier school. Nevena Koukova received the Allan N. Nash Award for Outstanding Doctoral Student, presented by Larry Gordon.
Debora Viana Thompson, Daliborka Stojevic, and Yue Wang (not pictured) received the Frank T. Paine Award for Academic Achievement, presented by Larry Gordon. Guruprasad Pundoor received the Abraham Golub Memorial Dissertation Proposal Prize Award, presented by Bruce Golden.
Lan Luo received the Marvin A. Jolson Outstanding Marketing Student Doctoral Award, presented by Brian Ratchford. The Association of Doctoral Students also presented awards, both whimsical and serious, to commemorate their year.
