On Saturday, April 26, the Robert H.
Smith School of Business and Van
Munching Hall came alive with activity
as doors were opened to thousands of
alumni and their families, parents,
prospective students, business partners,
and community neighbors at the
university's Fifth Annual Maryland Day.
Visitors enjoyed a day of learning,
exploration, and fun with our students,
faculty, staff, and their families.
The Smith School held its annual
raffle, giving away high-tech prizes: a
Web camera, video-capturing hardware and
video-editing software, a computer
briefcase, and various University of
Maryland items.
Prize winners:
Mae Lew of Potomac, MD, won the
second-place prize, VideoOh! CD video
creator kit.
Megan Lau of Potomac, MD, won the
third-place prize, a computer briefcase.
Trin Xue of College Park, MD, won an
Alumni windbreaker.
Craig Glasgow of College Park, MD,
won a Smith School golf shirt.
Tony Lau of Potomac, MD, won
Terrapins binoculars and a Testudo
paperweight.

Attendees of this educational,
interactive session with teaching
professors Bill DeWitt (above), Angelisa

the transportation logistics and
supply-chain management of your favorite

Attendees met Assistant Dean of
Undergraduate Studies Patricia
Cleveland. They were given an overview
of Smith School's competitive
undergraduate programs including the
Business Honors Program; College Park
Scholars Program for Business, Society,
and the Economy; Entrepreneurship
Citation Program; Hinman CEOs (Campus
Entrepreneurship Opportunities) Program;
and QUEST (Quality Enhancement Systems
and Teams) Program.
Visitors enjoyed a building tour of
Van Munching Hall and saw Smith's
state-of-the-art research, teaching, and
program facilities.
