Smith Welcomes Prospective MBAs to Smith Showcase

Smith Welcomes Prospective MBAs to Smith Showcase

A select group of high-achievers was offered an exclusive look at life as a Terp during the annual Smith Showcase, Dec. 2-3, 2016, at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. The invitation-only event was attended by 40 men and women who are being considered for admission to the Smith School’s full-time MBA program. Guests came from across the United States and around the world, including Colombia, Italy and South Korea.

Prospective students got a sense of what MBA courses are like by participating in a strategy simulation with Associate Research Professor Joe Bailey. Students also received a curriculum overview from Assistant Dean Shreevardhan Lele, and gained insights into the competitive job market from the Office of Career Services, alumni and students.

Smith alumni and Advisory Board members Tony Tijerino, Lexy B. Kessler, Phyllis Caldwell, and Mark Lewis joined Dean Alex Triantis in a panel discussion about the many benefits of learning, living and working in the greater metropolitan region.

The day ended in the Xfinity Center, as prospective students watched the University of Maryland’s men’s basketball team pull out a 71-70 win over Oklahoma State.

Learn more about Smith’s top-ranked MBA. The priority deadline for application to the full-time MBA program is January 15, 2017.
