Smith School Hosts Annual Monte Carlo Night

Mark your calendars for the Robert H. Smith School of Business’ largest party of the year: Monte Carlo Night.

Monte Carlo Night, 2011

Join us on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C., for a night of non-stop fun. This year everything is bigger and better, with live music, LED gaming tables, a larger room, extra bars, and an after party with drink specials. The party starts at 8 p.m. and lasts until midnight.

Monte Carlo Night began as a fundraising event in 2002. It was established by MBA students to raise money for a scholarship fund in honor of Michael Scott Lamana and Eric Cranford, Smith school part-time MBA students who were victims of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

“Over the past decade, Monte Carlo Night has grown into a signature event for the Smith community, bringing together students from the full-time, part-time and executive MBA programs, alumni, faculty, and staff,” said Cara Weikel, second-year Smith MBA student and president of the MBA Association.

“With close to 1,000 participants last year, many consider Monte Carlo Night as the ‘must-attend event’ for the Smith community – and this year is no exception! To accommodate the increased scale of the event, this Monte Carlo Night will be bigger and better than ever. You won’t want to miss this fabulous night of gaming, dancing and fun with your colleagues and friends. We hope you will join us.”

Highlights this year include:

  • Larger venue including 50 percent more space
  • Extra bars and bartenders
  • Live music from NYX Entertainment
  • LED gaming tables
  • After party with drink specials
