On a beautiful spring evening last week (April 18, 2013), MBA students, deans, faculty, and staff of the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School gathered outside of Van Munching Hall in Mayer Mall for the Third Annual Smith’s Got Talent event.
The event kicked off with the Smith Experience Graduation Showcase and a short address from Smith School Dean G. “Anand” Anandalingam. The Smith Experience is six credits of experiential learning for full-time MBAs that can be taken across the five areas: consulting, global, social value creation, investing, and entrepreneurship. Karen Wouters, Tyser Teaching Fellow and Academic Director Smith Experience and MBA Consulting Program, was the emcee for this part of the event and introduced graduating students who gave short presentations about their exciting Smith Experience projects. After that, Lele (Shreevardhan Lele, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs – MBA Programs and Ralph J. Tyser Distinguished Teaching Fellow of Business Administration) took over emcee duties and students began to showcase their singing and dancing talents, while the audience of a couple hundred enjoyed a great BBQ dinner.
Always a highlight of the school year, Smith's Got Talent is a great way for the community to come together, have some fun and celebrate the success of another academic year.
