The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business community came together on May 5, 2016, to celebrate the achievements of top undergraduate students at the 16th annual Undergraduate Senior Awards Dinner. More than 60 students, faculty and staff attended the much-anticipated dinner in Van Munching Hall, which was one of many celebrations for seniors before course finals and commencement.

Entrepreneurial Spirit

In late April, the Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted the Smith Entrepreneurship Research Conference (SERC), an annual conference designed to highlight important entrepreneurship-focused research papers. The invitation-only conference, which is attended by prominent researchers and rising stars, helps researchers determine best practices in linking researchers’ findings to practitioners’ goals. SERC discussions are focused on relevant social, economic and organizational issues in the entrepreneurship field.

Experts at a recent University of Maryland event said innovation will play a key yet unpredictable role as the United States moves toward meeting the goals set forth in the Paris Agreement on climate change, namely keeping the global temperature rise to significantly below 2 degrees Celsius. Radio ads are playing on local stations and banners ads are on display on numerous news websites throughout the region.
