On September 30th, Frank Auditorium was filled and attendees were on the edge of their seats at the BB&T Colloquium on Capitalism, Ethics and Leadership. The event was sponsored by BB&T and hosted by the Center for Leadership, Innovation and Change (CLIC) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. The fascinating discussion centered on the moral psychology of economic life and strife.
Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, was a record-setting day for the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. In fact, it was a slam-dunk for students and employers, alike. More than one hundred employers connected with 1,000+ students at the sold-out Smith Undergraduate Career Fair.
Sherika Shaw Ekpo, MBA ’09, made her time count at Smith. She was the first in her class to secure an internship offer and the first to secure a job offer, and she did this while working 20 hours a week on campus. She also brought together students from the full-time, part-time and executive programs as president of the Smith Association of Women MBAs. By the time she graduated, she had competing job offers to consider.
University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business alumnus Howard Schilit, PhD ’81, CEO of Schilit Forensics and co-author of Financial Shenanigans, is bringing new insight to accounting students through the Schilit Scholars in Accounting program.
