On Friday, May 2, 2014, masters students from the University of Maryland's Roberrt H. Smith School of Business volunteered at the Special Olympics 2014 Unified Outdoor Bocce State High School Invitational at Washington College in Chestertown, Md.

Kim Jones, a program coordinator in the Masters Programs Office, along with colleagues Gabrielle Gibson and Tiffany Zook, organized the trip.

On Friday, April 25, 2014, Smith’s Black MBA Association and Latin American MBA Student Association (LAMBASA) co-hosted the 21st Annual William D. Bradford Awards Banquet in the Samuel Riggs Alumni Center. The dinner and reception has now become an annual tradition at Smith, providing an opportunity to bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and corporate partners for celebration of diversity in the Smith community.

Watch the Fox Business Network from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, May 5, as students representing the Robert H. Smith School of Business participate in a live interview with Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. 

More than 40 Smith finance majors will appear, remotely, from a Van Munching classroom. One of the students will pose a question to Buffett during an interview that wraps up the network’s coverage of the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder meeting in Omaha.

Facebook voters will select best-decorated caps

Decorated mortarboards and keynote remarks from a Wall Street veteran will highlight the Robert H. Smith School of Business undergraduate and PhD commencement on May 23, 2014, while MBA and other graduate students celebrate one day earlier in separate ceremonies.

Hosting three commencements instead of one, the norm in previous years, will allow the school to shorten each ceremony and create a more intimate atmosphere for each group.
