College Park, Md. January 24, 2007 - The American Finance Association has honored two professors at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business with the prestigious Smith Breeden Distinguished Paper Prize.
College Park, Md. January 19, 2007 - A group of Robert H. Smith School of Business undergraduate and MBA students had the honor of ringing the bell to open trading on the New York Stock Exchange this morning.
College Park, Md. January 8, 2007 - Rebecca Hamilton, assistant professor of marketing at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business has been identified by the Marketing Science Institute (MSI) as among a select group of scholars most likely to become the marketing fields next generation of leaders.
Jane Frank, director and owner of the McLean, Va.-based Worlds of Wonder art gallery, has pledged $500,000 to the Smith School of Business, to honor the contributions of her husband, the schools dean. In recognition of the gift, the school has named its largest auditorium the Howard Frank Auditorium.
Earlier this month (July 2003), 30 Washington, D.C., six-graders who are part of Project 312 visited the Smith School to learn about business and tour Van Munching Hall. Smith alum Bob Pincus 68, chairman of MMP Capital Partners and retired president of BB&T, Washington Region, and his wife, Roxanne Little, with two other area philanthropists (Harry Nick and Laurence Siegel), formed Project 312, the 176th chapter of the national "I Have A Dream" Foundation, in June 2002 with the ultimate goal of sending disadvantaged students in Washington, D.C., to
