25 Maryland Smith Professors Named Among Top 2% Worldwide

Top 2% faculty in 2022

A study of the world’s top researchers identifies 25 from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business in the top 2% of the most-cited scholars and scientists worldwide.

The study, published in the journal PLoS Biology, looks at 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields and ranks researchers by the number of times their work is cited in other research. This year, the study broke down the data by career-long citations and citations from 2021. The research was led by Stanford University, based on data from Elsevier’s Scopus, an abstract and citation database of research publications.
