Agarwal

Dr. Ritu Agarwal is a professor and the Robert H. Smith Dean’s Chair of Information Systems at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park. She has previously served on the faculties at Florida State University, New York University, and the University of Dayton. Agarwal has published over 50 papers on information technology management topics in journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Communications of the ACM, Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions, and Decision Support Systems, and has made presentations at a variety of national and international conferences. She has expertise in the management of information technology in organizations. Her current research is focused on the IT-enabled transformations and the use of IT in healthcare settings, how organizations derive value from information technology through adoption, diffusion and creative use; and appropriate strategies for the management of IT human capital. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida.

BaileyDr. Joseph Bailey is a research associate professor of Decision and Information Technologies at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland , College Park . Bailey's research and teaching interests span issues in telecommunications, economics, and public policy with an emphasis on the economics of the Internet. This area includes an identification of the existing public policies, technologies, and market opportunities that promote the benefits of interoperability. Bailey is currently studying issues related to the economics of electronic commerce and how the Internet changes competition and supply chain management. His Ph.D. is from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Technology, Management and Policy.

GuptaDr. Anil K. Gupta is the Ralph J. Tyser Professor of Strategy and Organization, chair of the management and organization department, and research director at the Dingman Center, Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. Gupta specializes in the field of strategy, globalization, and organization design and is the coauthor, with Vijay Govindarajan, of The Quest for Global Dominance: Transforming Global Presence Into Global Competitive Advantage (Jossey-Bass, 2001). He has published over 55 papers and served on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Review and Journal of High Technology Management Research. A consultant with several corporations, including IBM, National Semiconductor, Marriott, First Data Corporation, Monsanto, and Lockheed Martin, he is on the boards of NeoMagic Corporation and Omega Worldwide Inc. He is also a member of the board of advisors for VennWorks and iPark Boston. He has been a visiting professor at Stanford University, the Tuck School at Dartmouth College, Bocconi Business School (Milan, Italy), Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration (Finland), and IPMI (Jakarta, Indonesia) He is also listed in “Who’s Who in America” and is a member of the advisory panel for “The Knowledge Trade Initiative” sponsored by the US-India Business Council. He
received in Doctor of Business Administration from Harvard University.
