Why I chose Smith: I was first attracted to Smith by the various Smith Experience opportunities. After reading that the Smith Experience is a program requirement and not just something students can elect to participate in, I realized how ingrained the culture and values are embodied in all aspects of life at Smith.I believe Smith’s emphasis on a well-rounded experience both in the classroom and in the ‘real world’ is what makes the program stand out. Inside the walls of Van Munching Hall, students are expected to build soft skills as well as the hard analysis abilities and then apply these skills in the community throughout internships, study abroad trips, and many other interesting opportunities.
