For many people considering an MBA, personal and professional commitments require options that work around their full-time schedules. Each of Smith’s part-time MBA programs is designed with an emphasis on quality and a commitment to the program flexibility that best suits your lifestyle.

Whether you choose to fast-track your degree in the 24-month accelerated program or enroll in the more traditional evening or weekend schedule, each program requires 54 intense, focused credits for degree completion.

The Accelerated MBA

You are a working professional who refuses to compromise on quality. You want program options designed for your needs and schedule. And you’d like your degree sooner than later.

The Smith Accelerated MBA is for you.

One of Smith’s part-time MBA options, this program is designed for professionals who want greater leverage in their current careers, as well as career-changers who want to explore new horizons. It is a rigorous 24-month program that combines the pace of a full-time MBA with the evening and weekend schedule of a traditional part-time program.

First-year students move through a core curriculum as a cohort, a collaborative method of learning and working. During the core schedule, classes meet one weekday evening and on alternating Saturdays. The second-year schedule varies based on individual campus and program selection. Second-year students also have the opportunity to participate in Smith’s Global Studies electives.

The first-year core is taught at Smith’s Baltimore or Shady Grove (Rockville) campus. Second-year students can take electives at any of the Smith campuses – Washington, D.C. (weekend or evening), Shady Grove (evening), or Baltimore (evening).

The Evening MBA

The Evening MBA is structured for students whose schedules would best be supported by evening classes and activities. Complete the program in 30-36 months in one of three locations: Washington, D.C., Shady Grove (Rockville), or Baltimore.

Classes generally meet two nights a week, either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. During the first half of the program, students take core classes at their home campus – Washington, D.C., Shady Grove, or Baltimore. Electives may be taken at any of these three Smith campuses.

The Weekend MBA

Prospective MBA students who are looking for a part-time option other than weekday evenings need look no further than the Weekend MBA.

It’s an ideal option/schedule for those whose work or weekday schedule won’t accommodate evening classes. Like the Evening MBA, the Weekend MBA program can be completed in 30 – 36 months at our Washington, D.C. location. In the core curriculum, students meet approximately 33-36 Saturdays a year – two consecutive Saturdays with the following Saturday off.

The MBA programs for working professionals at Smith are for those who will not accept anything less than a nationally ranked, marketable MBA with a strategic curriculum, world-class faculty, and a diverse student body.
