Message from the Associate Dean

Choosing the right MBA program can be challenging and time consuming. Thank you for including the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business in your MBA search.

If you’ve been examining graduate business programs for any length of time, you know that most of the top schools (including the Smith School) often say the same things to prospective students. They tell you about great faculty, a supportive community, rankings, a global approach, financial aid, career services and many other attributes and offerings. At some point, it all sounds the same.

The fact is, the top programs are quite similar because the best graduate business schools adopt best practices. While the similarities are numerous, the differences are few but extremely significant.

The Smith School offers its students everything other high quality MBA programs offer. That being said, I encourage you to examine the small, but very important, differences here. It’s those differences that will lead you to the right MBA program. “Fit” is incredibly important. For you to succeed in a top MBA program, you need to feel comfortable and at home.
