Life at Smith
What truly defines the Smith experience are the many opportunities for
learning, growing and achieving that exist beyond the classroom. You can
connect with fellow students through the
MBA Association, which coordinates more
than 20 student-run groups representing a wide range of activities.
Participate throughout the year in networking events, resume reviews, industry
speakers, high school mentoring programs, forums, intramural sports and happy
hours.
Recreational opportunities abound, both on and off campus. Take a study
break on campus at the Eppley Recreation Center, which features indoor and
outdoor pools, two gymnasiums, indoor track, racquetball courts, and weight,
fitness and martial arts rooms. Tennis courts and the university’s golf
course are located nearby.
The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at Maryland offers a seasonal
calendar of live musical, dance and theatrical performances, recitals and exhibits. See why the university’s art gallery has earned a national
reputation for innovative exhibitions.
Sports fans will enjoy watching the Terps compete. In addition to its
well-known football and men’s and women’s basketball programs, the university
also fields more than 27 men’s and women’s intercollegiate teams.
The place to go for all around student services is the
Adele H. Stamp Student Union. Stamp houses a variety of eateries, a full-service bank, bowling
alley, coffee shop, post office, a 750-seat cinema, and the
University Book Center. Across the street from Stamp, the
University Health Center offers
quality medical care to students. And the
Office of International
Education Services in the Mitchell Building provides a wide range of services to
international students.
