Yonjeong Paik graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Seoul National University with Magna Cum Laude in 1999. She worked at Samsung Electronics and Korean Psychological Testing Institute. Before she joined in the doctoral program at the University of Maryland, she had completed the graduate program in OBHR at Seoul National University.
Dissertation title Redefining Multidisciplinary Teams: An Institutional Approach
Dissertation Summary
Relying on institutional theory, I develop a multilevel model of the effects of two potential barriers on team member performance in multidisciplinary teams:
institutional embeddedness, or the extent to which an individual is cognitively, affectively and normatively influenced by her discipline, and
institutional hierarchy, or the degree of perceived status differences among disciplines in the team. I test the model using a data set from a large national research institute in South Korea. Dissertation Chair:
