Rellie Derfler-Rozin is an Assistant Professor of Management & Organization at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. She received her PhD in Organizational Behavior from London Business School. Her research focuses on psychological anxieties at the workplace that are associated with threats to fundamental needs such as the need to belong to a group and the need to maintain status in a group. More specifically, she has studied behaviors of employees who are at risk of social exclusion, employees' reactions to discretionary allocation system in the workplace, and employees' reactions to customers' anger. She employs both field and experimental methods in her research.
