Rick Goldstein

Rick Goldstein is the founder and President of Kensington Consulting Group, Inc. Started in 1993, Kensington is a management-consulting firm whose clients include industry leaders such as Pulte Homes, Marriott, IBM, GE, Caterpillar and Diageo. Rick's clients have also included international and public sector organizations such as World Bank, U. S. Department of Energy, Arizona Office of Tourism, Philadelphia Department of Human Services and numerous associations and non-profit organizations.

Rick's success as an entrepreneur, consultant, educator and coach reflects his more than 25 years of experience in guiding and facilitating efforts to improve organizational performance. Clients have valued Rick for his honest and trustworthy approach, and for his help in designing and strengthening strategy, organizational structure, operational excellence and execution. He has helped develop and implement an acquisition integration model that became the benchmark at GE, and created a process for streamlining complex large organizations that is in use at a number of leading companies. He is an expert in mobilizing entire organizations to quickly embrace new directions that range from reorganizations to major strategic initiatives. One client described Rick as having a "passion for generating world class solutions to complex business problems." Rather than using a pre-set consulting formula, he is known for developing customized approaches to achieve specific business outcomes that meet the needs of each client.

Prior to founding Kensington Consulting Group, Inc. in 1993, Rick was an executive with Marriott. He was a leader in planning and directing numerous company wide initiatives that led to improvements in customer satisfaction and financial performance, served as facilitator for the Lodging Executive Committee, and was responsible for worldwide training. He began his career in the Federal Government as an internal organizational consultant based in the U. S. Department of Education.

Rick is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business MBA program, where he teaches leadership, organization design and strategy implementation. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, is an avid sailor and accomplished jazz trumpet player.
