Yue Zhou

Research Interests: Theories of the firm, diversification, complex systems, organization structure, and multinational enterprises.

Professor Zhou currently teaches international economics for managers in the part-time and evening MBA programs. Her research focuses on theory of the firm, diversification, coordination costs, organization structure, and multinational corporations. Her recent studies investigate the role of coordination cost in setting limits to firm growth, and the role of organization structure in coordination.

Zhou holds a PhD from the University of Michigan where she taught world economy and earned the Gerald and Lillian Dykstra Fellowship for teaching excellence. She also has an MBA from the University of Maryland. Prior to her academic career, Zhou worked for Arthur Andersen as a financial auditor, and the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group as an investment officer on privatization transactions in Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe.
