Research Interests: Supply
chain management, supply chain contracts
and incentive mechanisms design,
operations management and information
technologies, distribution channels,
marketing and operations interface.
Yan Dong has contributed his skills
and expertise to industry giants
including IBM Global Services and
the World Bank. A published author
in the Journal of Operations Management
and Transportation Research, his
research is focused in the areas
of supply chain management and strategies,
channel coordination, and competitive
firm behavior in logistics and supply
chains. Dong was an Assistant Professor
of Logistics and Supply Chain Management
at the University of Minnesota,
Carlson Schools of Management before
joining the R. H. Smith School of
Business at the University of Maryland
College Park in 2007. He has
a masters degree in economics and
a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland
in the areas of transportation and
logistics management.
