Global Business Exchange Programs
Undergraduate
Studying abroad for a semester is a great way to expand your understanding of
other business and cultural environments, demonstrate an ability to work effectively
in foreign environments. You also gain the opportunity to practice a foreign language
if that is of interest; however, all of our partner schools offer courses in English.
To apply: the first step is to meet with your
undergraduate advisor to discuss how studying abroad will fit with your academic
goals and requirements. The next step is to contact
Amanda Golden for the application and
other materials. You will later schedule an interview with
Lisa Barnard to discuss your partner
school of interest and your goals in studying abroad. Please click on the "Undergraduate
Application Process" link to the right for complete application requirements.
Course Approval: If you are interested
in taking a course that has not yet been reviewed by the advising/academic team,
simply request a copy of the syllabus (either directly from the host university
or through Lisa Barnard), and bring it to your advisor to be articulated (reviewed).
For more information, see
Course Approval.
Partner Schools
The benefits of studying at a partner school are an excellent academic experience,
help with applying and other administrative functions, and a financial structure
that allows you to be billed University of Maryland tuition through Testudo, the
same as if you were still here for that semester.
Please
review guidelines about the 30-credit rule and check with your advisor about
specifics regarding your program of choice.

Other Study Abroad Programs
For those students who would like to consider university options
other than these listed, the Robert H. Smith School of Business will accept transfer
credits from any AACSB or Equis accredited institution. However, the process for
applying and transfer of credits or possible fulfillment of degree requirements
must be negotiated on a case by case basis with the Center for Global Business and
your undergraduate academic advisor. All tuition and financial obligations will
be paid to that university directly, and you must complete your last 30 credits
at the University of Maryland.
