The Global Technology and Management Consortium Mission

The Global Technology and Management Consortium (GTMC) is an entity formed by select business schools around the world that are committed to the highest level of education and research, emphasizing technology, its uses and development as the basis of their educational and differentiation strategies. The benefits of the GTMC to faculty, students, and affiliated companies and populations are: complementarities in research efforts and expertise; opportunities to compete with and learn from other students and faculty through projects such as the supply chain game and global case competitions; greater opportunities and input in Ph.D. seminars; a “finger on the pulse” of the technology management needs in participating companies; and the corresponding supply and network of great talent, within and across universities and companies. Above all, the GTMC stresses the ability to benchmark, incorporate and stimulate technological developments and uses with colleagues of the highest quality.

PhD Symposium 2006

The 4th annual PhD Symposium was held in Groningen, 11-13 June 2006.  Eleven students were selected to participate based on their area of research and level of progress towards their degree; all participants focused on some aspect of technology and its impact, and were close to publishing papers but still able to benefit from brainstorming and research collaborations with symposium peers.

Given the success and energy of the June 2006 event, the GTMC is already looking forward to the next symposium, scheduled to be held in the fall 2007.  We expect to utilize and demonstrate our supply chain game; Delft has been very active in developing a supply chain system where students can make logistical, purchasing and delivery decisions in real-time, with international teams simulating real-life competition.
