Goals and Expectations - During the first week of employment, your new employee should gain an understanding of the University, department and their job responsibilities. The following email links, activities, and discussion will help you to accomplish these goals.

Timesheets - The timesheet system facilitates employees to book their weekly work hours.

Benefits - The Office of Employee Benefits is responsible for providing consultative services to employees on the variety of benefits programs available; assisting with retirement options including planning, enrollment, and changes/adjustments; administering the USM tuition remission program; assisting with health insurance enrollments, payroll entries; and maintenance of benefits during Leave Without Pay.

Training & Development - The training and development department provides University of Maryland employees with opportunities for professional development, leadership development, and advanced skills training.

Staff Relations - Staff Relations is responsible for providing advice and assistance to employees and administrators, managers and supervisors on a variety of employee relations issues.

Employment and Compensation - University Human Resources-Office of Employment and Compensation Services is responsible for the staffing process for Nonexempt vacancies on campus, for both regular and contingent positions.
