My research studies the economics of IT, and of industries transformed by the growth of online commerce. IT has had a profound impact on many businesses, rendering existing business models obsolete, and creating new ones. These changes are not only fundamental, but also sufficiently unique to necessitate new theories of their economic impacts. My research program over the last few years has been guided largely by the recognition of the transformative power of these technological developments and motivated by the need to gain a better understanding of the impacts of these technological changes. |
