CURRICULUM VITAE

Jordan is a fourth year doctoral student in Marketing at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. Her research on dynamic motivational processes centers on understanding effects of multiple means and multiple goals on goal pursuit. Jordan's work on multiple means investigates the interplay between variety, goal progress, and temporal focus in influencing goal-directed motivation. She shows that the influence of variety among means on motivation changes as consumers make progress towards goal attainment and depends on when consumers plan for goal pursuit. Her work on multiple goals considers how consumers negotiate multiple-goal pursuit, identifying factors, including incidental mood and goal-related mindsets, which impact this process. Several projects in this research stream focus more specifically on the experience of inter-goal conflict and corresponding motivational consequences. Jordan’s other research interests include goal-based choice, consumption, and incentives for motivating desired behavior.
