SMITH-GSBA Global Executive MBA Program
The University of Maryland's Robert
H. Smith School of Business and the
Graduate School of Business
Administration Zϋrich (GSBA)
in Switzerland have
partnered to deliver a
global executive MBA (EMBA) program (SMITH-GSBA
Global EMBA). U.S. and
international students in the program
will have the opportunity to take
classes and work with businesses on
three continents.
The rigorous program will capitalize
on the unique strengths of both schools
– combining the Smith
School's focus on the integration of
business and technology with GSBA Zϋrich's
"living case" approach that builds
hands-on learning and experience.
Students will gain in-depth global
knowledge, perspective and skills from
experience gained working directly with
businesses in Europe, through GSBA; Asia,
through Smith’s programs in China; and
North America, at the University of
Maryland’s College Park campus.

"There are differences
between businesses and
economies in North
America and the rest of
the world, differences
you can’t fully
understand by reading a
book about China or
exchanging e-mail with
someone in Europe.
Having the opportunity
to study and interact
with counterparts on
three continents will
give students a depth of
experience that cannot
be replicated in any
other way."

The program, which will begin in
College Park in 2006, is a 24-36 month
program targeted toward mid-to-senior
career business professionals with at
least 8-10 years of managerial
experience. Designed around nine
two-week blocks, executives can complete blocks in Asia, the United States and
Europe.
